We designed an organizational audit for a company in Los Angeles not too long ago. Sure, they could have hired a firm from California, but we work lean and mean so they hired us. Besides, the boss decided that she didn’t want pages full of diagrams and data, but rather sought some honest answers to some tough questions. She asked us to find out what was missing from the company operation. She didn’t feel like they “were firing on all eight.” The boss wanted to know if any employees were unhappy and, if so, why? The boss wanted answers. In three weeks, we delivered a concise, accurate corporate summary of the status of the organization at the time. The boss read the report, acted on the discoveries and saved the company. People at the top want and need information. We deliver!

In our organizational audits, we engage a qualitative research practice called folknography. In short, we ask the people working in an organization what is right with it and what is wrong with it. We get people to talk. We listen to their stories. Not everybody gets to appear on the TV show called Undercover Boss. We go undercover with management approval and meet with a good sample of people from top to bottom in the organization and come out with a clear description of what the organization does right and where they need some work. This process can be painful for those who don’t want to hear the truth.

If you have a sense that you need to an organization overhaul, a reboot or a checkup, contact us. We will negotiate a package with you that will fit your budget, clarify your status and provide you with the information you need to make decisions for a strategic plan, see change or reshape. We will discover and deliver.

How do you define public relations (PR)? We like to say that “Public relations can be defined by reversing the order of the two words: relations with the public.” Not that simple? Probably not. So, let us expand our definition by suggesting that we discovered four major ingredients in a good public relations posture to suit your company, agency organization.

First, public relations should be about your relationships with clients, customers or consumers. We work best for outfits that what to make long term relationships with returning users. We want to help you build a cliental that keeps on coming back. We want to help you establish a positive image with your customer base and then help you keep that image polished, focused and in full color. We will build a solid relationship with you so you can build relationships with your clients.

Second, PR should be about creativity. We will not spin up a cookie-cutter approach for you and your organization. We believe in individual treatment because every organization has a unique culture and a special story to tell. We want to help you discover or re-discover your narrative, clarify the essential points and then put it out there for the world to hear. We get to know you so others can know you too!

Third, we believe that a good narrative depends on a powerful message. Too many companies settle for a few billboards, some ads and gimmick premiums. We go the extra mile. We want to know what you are good at delivering and then build that narrative with a well-constructed campaign that conveys your message. We don’t deliver spin. We convey a message to win.

Finally, we generate our public relations approach from theory and practice. Sure, we know the models, the theories and the strategies. We have poured over the books, academic articles and research. But we bring more to the table. We’ve been doing public relations for over 30 years and, although the delivery channels have changed, the premise of good public relations has not. We will determine your story, define the best points, describe your offerings and deliver the successful results you seek.

You have a message to tell. We want to help you deliver it. We won’t cost you money; we will make you money by packaging your best story so your customers will keep coming back for more. Contact us (david@davidlucascommunication.com) today and let’s get started in telling your story to the world.

Spokesperson

Sometimes organizations run aground. You have an emergency, tragedy, or a tough, fluid situation with which you must deal. You need someone to go before the cameras, lights and reporters to answer questions and deliver information in a timely fashion, in an accurate way. Reporters and lawyers have this one trait in common: they can ask a question that can sink your ship. If you need a spokesperson for any reason, send us a note. We can be on the ground in hours and help you fashion a response or we can work remotely and guide your through the process. Either way, you do not want to mishandle a crisis or troubled circumstance. One question followed by one careless answer can sink a ship. The old WWII adage remains true: “Lose lips sink ships!”

Why not let us stand with you and deliver the message you need to communicate? We will do so in a professional and persuasive way. Contact us (david@davidlucascommunication.com) today!
